Dogpatch Games is hiring Kids Summer Camp Staff for our 2026 Kids Summer Camp program.

We are hiring for two kinds of summer camp staff roles:
  • General Camp Staff , who help lead board games, game design activities, breaks, transitions, and the overall camp day
  • D&D Specialists , who help lead roleplaying programming, most often in the afternoons
Some candidates may be a fit for both roles, but they do not need to be.

Our summer camp serves ages 8-14, runs in 7 one-week sessions, and includes a mix of tabletop gaming, with board games as a major part of camp and Dungeons & Dragons as a key afternoon activity. Camp hours are 9:00am-5:00pm.

  • Summer 2026
  • Camp hours are generally 9:00am-5:00pm
  • General Camp Staff typically work 9:00am - 2:00pm
  • D&D Staff generally work 2:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Candidates must be available for at least 5 weeks of camp
  • Preference for candidates available for 6 or all 7 weeks
2026 Camp Sessions
  • Session 1: June 15-19
  • Session 2: June 22-26
  • Session 3: July 13-17
  • Session 4: July 20-24
  • Session 5: July 27-31
  • Session 6: August 3-7
  • Session 7: August 10-14
Compensation
  • $25-$35 per camp hour staffed, depending on experience and area
  • General Camp Staff: $25-$30 per camp hour
  • D&D Specialist: $30-$35 per camp hour
General Camp Staff
General Camp Staff help lead the broader camp day and support a fun, organized, and welcoming experience for campers. They lead numerous board games throughout the week, teaching at least one new game each day, and also run/support special programs like board game design exercises and miniature painting.

What General Camp Staff Do
  • Help lead board games and other tabletop activities
  • Support game design activities, breaks, transitions, and group management
  • Help maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive environment for campers
  • Work closely with camp leads and other staff to keep the day running smoothly
  • Support setup, cleanup, and other operational needs throughout the week
D&D Specialists
D&D Specialists help lead roleplaying programming, usually in the afternoons, and support campers in learning, playing, and enjoying Dungeons & Dragons.

What D&D Specialists Do
  • Lead Dungeons & Dragons sessions for kids
  • Help new and returning players engage with the game
  • Manage pacing, group dynamics, and player participation
  • Work with camp staff to keep afternoon programming organized and fun
  • Support transitions, materials, and general camp operations as needed
Ideal Qualifications
  • Experience working with children in camps, classrooms, afterschool programs, tutoring, or similar settings
  • Strong experience with the relevant program areas: board games or D&D
  • Comfort leading groups of kids and helping create a positive group dynamic
  • Good judgment and problem-solving when challenges come up
  • Reliability, professionalism, and strong communication
  • A love of board games, tabletop games, and sharing them with young players
Especially Strong Candidates May Also Have
  • Experience leading board games for groups of children
  • Experience running Dungeons & Dragons for kids or teens
  • Experience adapting activities to different ages, personalities, and experience levels
  • Interest in supporting multiple parts of the camp day across both general and D&D programming
