About the Position

 

Halo Smart Home / Halo Commercial Technologies is seeking an experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician to join our growing commercial division. We are looking for a motivated, dependable leader who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to build a long-term career with a company that is expanding rapidly.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial low-voltage experience, can read blueprints independently, manage field crews, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Read and interpret construction blueprints, floor plans, and low-voltage drawings.
  • Lead and supervise installation crews on commercial job sites.
  • Manage daily project schedules and ensure milestones are met.
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades.
  • Oversee installation and quality control of:
    • Structured cabling (CAT6/CAT6A)
    • Fiber optic cabling and fiber terminations
    • Wireless Access Points (WAPs)
    • Access Control Systems
    • Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV)
    • Intrusion/Security Systems
    • Network racks and cabinets
    • Patch panel terminations
    • Cable management systems
  • Ensure all work meets industry standards and company quality expectations.
  • Train and mentor technicians while maintaining a productive and professional work environment.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and provide solutions in the field.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial low-voltage installation experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership or foreman experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand construction blueprints and low-voltage plans.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial structured cabling practices.
  • Experience with rack installation, cable management, labeling, and testing.
  • Experience terminating and testing copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Familiarity with commercial access control, security cameras, wireless networking, and intrusion systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in commercial construction environments.
