Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our client's team in South Jersey. This Senior Staff Accountant role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who can manage core accounting activities, support accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong control over receivables and expense-related processes. The position offers the opportunity to work across multiple accounting functions while partnering with internal teams to keep financial operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Review balance sheet and operating expense accounts to identify variances, confirm accuracy, and support the integrity of the general ledger.
• Prepare recurring and month-end journal entries related to payroll, accruals, reclassifications, and other financial adjustments.
• Administer the corporate credit card program through Concur, including oversight of process compliance and issue resolution.
• Evaluate customer credit information and help determine whether orders should be approved, released, or placed on hold.
• Reconcile accounts receivable activity, follow up on outstanding balances, and manage collections for key customer accounts.
• Support sales tax administration and assist customer service with tax-related questions and documentation needs.
• Compile financial and operational data for reporting packages, tax support files, insurance submissions, and related business requests.
• Analyze aging reports, clear unresolved receivable items, and assist in maintaining appropriate bad debt reserves.

The ideal Senior Staff Accountant candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education.

Other requirements for the Senior Staff Accountant position include and are not limited to:

• 5+ years professional experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Advanced Excel, Word, and Power Point).
• Experience with SAP or other ERP software.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial data analysis
• Excellent communication and client service skills
