About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to serve as a strategic partner and content expert, providing compliance leadership and ethical stewardship to ensure the long-term integrity and mission success of the organization. The CCO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the enterprise-wide compliance program, including regulatory adherence, risk management, privacy and data security, billing integrity, and organizational ethics. This role requires a proactive approach to risk identification, staff education, and organizational accountability, with a focus on maintaining full compliance with federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and funding requirements. The CCO will also lead quality management, direct staff in developing plans to address compliance issues, and oversee accreditation, quality assurance, and improvement activities. Applicants for the CCO position at the company must have a minimum of 15 years' of progressive compliance, regulatory, or risk management experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting, with a strong preference for those with experience in a complex, multi-site organization. Deep expertise in relevant regulations, including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Medicaid/Medicare compliance, is essential. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, an exceptional communicator, and a collaborative leader with a mission-driven approach. Responsibilities also include leading compliance risk assessments, internal audits, and investigations, as well as coordinating responses to external audits and managing relationships with external counsel and compliance consultants. The CCO will be expected to have a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or closely related field, with an advanced degree preferred, and the ability to travel as needed.
