Handyman
Full-Time | Middletown Region, Connecticut
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00-3:30pm Keep Our Communities Looking Their Best
The Carabetta Companies is seeking a skilled and dependable Handyman to join our Service Maintenance team serving our residential communities throughout Middletown. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and is committed to providing exceptional service to our residents.
ResponsibilitiesPrioritize and complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
Perform general repairs and maintenance in occupied and vacant apartments
Handle basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and appliance repairs
Prepare apartment homes for new residents, including turnovers and inspections
Troubleshoot maintenance issues and identify appropriate solutions
Maintain common areas, grounds, and building exteriors as needed
Assist with preventative maintenance programs
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards and safety regulations
Communicate effectively with residents, property managers, and maintenance team members
Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests when required
Minimum of 2 years of handyman, building maintenance, apartment maintenance, or related experience preferred
Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair
Ability to diagnose and repair common maintenance issues independently
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
