Handyman
Full-Time | Middletown Region, Connecticut
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00-3:30pm Keep Our Communities Looking Their Best

The Carabetta Companies is seeking a skilled and dependable Handyman to join our Service Maintenance team serving our residential communities throughout Middletown. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and is committed to providing exceptional service to our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and complete work orders in a timely and professional manner

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance in occupied and vacant apartments

  • Handle basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and appliance repairs

  • Prepare apartment homes for new residents, including turnovers and inspections

  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues and identify appropriate solutions

  • Maintain common areas, grounds, and building exteriors as needed

  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards and safety regulations

  • Communicate effectively with residents, property managers, and maintenance team members

  • Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests when required

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of handyman, building maintenance, apartment maintenance, or related experience preferred

  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair

  • Ability to diagnose and repair common maintenance issues independently

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
