Safety Coordinator

Location: Portland, OR (primarily office-based with occasional site visits)
Pay Range: $27–$30 per hour (DOE)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Safety Coordinator to support our Safety, Compliance, and Operations functions. This role plays a vital part in maintaining accurate documentation, supporting regulatory compliance, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operational processes across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who works well independently, takes ownership of responsibilities, and approaches their work with a safety‑first, people‑centered mindset. This individual demonstrates excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong communication skills, and is comfortable managing a blend of compliance, administrative, and operational tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Support OSHA, Fire Marshal, and environmental compliance documentation and recordkeeping
• Maintain stormwater, environmental, and safety‑related records
• Review, validate, and track time entry for fabrication teams
• Maintain equipment maintenance logs and company vehicle documentation
• Provide administrative and operational support to HR, Operations, and Project teams
• Assist with project submittals and compliance documentation as needed
• Proactively identify opportunities to streamline or improve processes
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality, fairness, and accountability

Qualifications

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Background in manufacturing, construction, industrial, or fabrication environments
• Exposure to safety, environmental, or regulatory compliance processes
• Experience with certified payroll or prevailing wage reporting (highly preferred)
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Education

• College degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience

Work Environment

This is a primarily office‑based position located in Portland, OR, with occasional visits to fabrication and belt facility sites.
